N.E.S.T's CEO and Special Educator, Hina Haroon, has introduced a new station-based learning program at our special education school in Islamabad, and the results have been remarkable: this approach works for every age group and every kind of learner, from toddlers just starting out to young learners of 20 years old. Unlike a traditional classroom, station-based learning moves children through a series of hands-on, purposefully designed learning stations, each targeting a different skill, communication, pre-academic concepts, fine motor work, sensory regulation and social interaction, so children stay engaged, build independence, and transfer what they learn far more effectively than in ordinary, one-size-fits-all seating.
